The Prescott area is home to some of Arizona's most dramatic trees โ and some of the trickiest removal jobs. Rocky lots, steep grades, tight neighborhood setbacks. We've handled it all.
Yavapai County's elevation and climate create a unique mix of trees, and we remove all of them โ either by falling them from the ground, climbing them and rigging them out (most common), or using our 60 ft bucket truck when the access allows.

Prescott's signature tree. Beautiful when healthy, dangerous when dead or diseased. Tall, heavy, and often close to structures โ these require careful sectional removal.
Most Common
Low and wide with distinctive bark, these junipers can spread aggressively on high desert lots. Dense wood makes them heavy for their size.
High Desert
Beloved shade trees that can become hazardous with age or after severe drought stress. Root systems require careful stump work after removal.
Shade Tree
Piรฑon-juniper woodland trees common throughout Yavapai County. Susceptible to bark beetle infestation โ a dead piรฑon is a fire risk and a removal priority.
Fire Risk
Fast-growing and found near Prescott's creeks and drainages. Their root systems are aggressive โ and the trees themselves can become large and brittle fast.
Riparian
Found at higher elevations around Prescott and the Bradshaw Mountains. Can grow very tall โ storm damage is common and often requires crane or high-angle rigging.

Marshall grew up here. He knows Prescott's terrain, its trees, and its people โ and he built Caz Treeworks to serve this community the right way.
Before starting the business, Marshall spent eleven years fighting wildland fire โ one year on an engine, seven years on the Prescott Hotshots, and three years as a Boise Smokejumper, parachuting into remote blazes with a chainsaw and a plan. When you've dropped trees to stop a 10,000-acre fire, there's not much in a residential yard that fazes you.
He started Caz Treeworks because of his unique background and seeing the need in the Prescott area, with bark beetles killing trees near people's homes. Tree removals are not always a one-size-fits-all situation โ sometimes it takes some thinking outside the box to come up with a safe, effective, and efficient way to do the removal. When trees can't be cut from the ground and need to be climbed and rigged out in sections, having the right gear and skill is essential to a successful operation. This is family-owned, locally operated, and built on the belief that doing the job right the first time is the only way to do it.
Parachute deployment into active wildland fire. High-angle rigging, emergency felling, and chainsaw work in zero-margin conditions.
1 year on an engine, 7 years on the Prescott Hotshots, and 3 years as a Boise Smokejumper. Forest Service trained. Certified in hazard tree assessment, fire behavior, and large-scale felling operations.
Born and raised in the high desert. Marshall knows this land, these trees, and this community โ not just the job.
Caz Treeworks isn't a franchise or a regional chain. Marshall runs every job himself. That means accountability from first call to final cleanup.
Most of our work comes from word of mouth. Neighbors, local contractors, and longtime Prescott families who know Marshall and trust his work.
Debris is hauled responsibly โ wood chipped, logs offered for firewood when possible, and nothing left on your property that wasn't there before we arrived.
Not sure what tree removal will cost? Request a free estimate and Marshall will come out to your property to look at the entire job in person โ the tree, the access, and where the material needs to be moved โ before giving you an honest number. No obligation, no sales calls, no runaround.
Seeing the job in person lets Marshall account for the gear needed, nearby structures, access points (driveway, gate, side yard), and the amount and weight of material to be moved โ so the estimate reflects the real work involved.
